MY STATEMENT

My work brings together symbolism, history, and culture through drawing, writing, and participatory art. Through illustration and visual storytelling, I create images that invite reflection on identity, memory, and transformation, while opening space for viewers to see themselves inside the work.

I am interested in art as both image and mirror, a place where personal story and cultural meaning meet. Whether intimate or participatory, the work is meant to slow the viewer down and create room for recognition, reflection, and connection.

JIDE' FRESH BIO

Jide’ Fresh is a Cincinnati-based artist whose work explores Black identity, cultural memory, and transformation through drawing, writing, and participatory art. His practice brings together symbolism, history, and lived experience, creating images that invite reflection, self-recognition, and personal growth.

Rooted in influences such as Ifá, Hip Hop, African and Diasporic culture, Afrofuturism and more. His work engages questions of mental health, healing, and the possibility of reimagining oneself beyond present conditions.
