Love and Blood

The official coloring book of a historic opera.

Love and Blood is the official coloring and activity book for LALOVAVI — the first Afrofuturistic opera, with music by Kevin Day and libretto by Tifara Brown, sung in English and Tut. It premiered July 9 & 11, 2026 at Cincinnati Opera's Music Hall as part of the Black Opera Project.

Created by Jide' Fresh, this is the first Afrofuturistic coloring book connected to an all-Black Afrofuturistic opera — and that means something far beyond the page.

Inside you'll find:

• Hand-drawn coloring pages inspired by the world of LALOVAVI.
• Activities and recipes from inside the story — including the Axium Nutrition standards.
• QR codes linking to a curated playlist and an immersive “Walk With Me” audio experience.

We stand on the shoulders of Sun Ra, Octavia Butler, and the many Black voices who dared to imagine a future beyond the limits placed in front of them. This book is a doorway — to reflect, dream, heal, and remember that the future isn't something we wait for. It's something we create together.

Color it. Feel it. Build the future.
