CincyLove
This project is born out of love for our city and a desire to challenge the notion that Cincinnati doesn’t support its artists. I hear the conversations all the time—artists feeling unseen, unsupported. But I believe the root of this isn’t just a lack of support; it’s a lack of connection. And connection is where magic happens.
This project is all about building a platform for collaboration—true collaboration that brings artists together to create something bigger than any one of us. It’s a coloring book, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a movement, inspired by the origins of Hip Hop—a story of community, love, and collective creativity.
Back in New York City, Hip Hop didn’t start in boardrooms or galleries. It started with kids in the Bronx showing each other love. Someone tried something new, and others hyped them up. The energy grew, the circle widened, and what started as local became global. That same spirit of collaboration—of building each other up—is the heart of this project.
Here’s how it works:
-
Fashion meets Photography meets Illustration meets Music.
Local photographers will capture the work of Cincinnati’s fashion designers and their models. Those photos will then be reimagined by illustrators and artists, turning them into beautiful, unique coloring pages. Each page will also pair with music—local musicians contributing their sound to the project. Every piece in the book will be a result of five artists collaborating: model, designer, photographer, illustrator, and musician. Together, we create a M.E.S.H. Book that is uniquely Cincinnati.
But it doesn’t stop there. Collaboration is just the beginning—distribution matters, too.
I know firsthand the struggle of being an artist and trying to make a living. I don’t have a grant to fund this; I have products I sell. I’ve been in the trenches. This project isn’t just about showcasing our work—it’s about making sure we’re financially supported, too.
Here’s the plan:
Every artist involved will have their hands on the finished book. Everybody will be able to get copies to sell at wholesale, to showcase, to bring to events, to put money in their pockets. It’s not just a platform to create; it’s a tool to elevate. And we are able to cross-promote each other's art while strengthening our artistic community here in Cincinnati.
This is where you come in. I want to work and collaborate with you.
When we collaborate, when we cross-promote, when we make each other shine, the world takes notice. It’s happened before in cities like New York, LA, Atlanta, and Paris, and it can happen here. This is Cincinnati’s moment. This is our community’s chance to show the world what we’re made of.
Let’s do something bigger together. Let’s create, support, and thrive.
